Vineyard end posts in steel. Reliable support at the end of every row

Vineyard end posts are the critical components that provide support at the ends of vineyard rows. Sika’s steel end posts are engineered to withstand the load and wire tension of fully developed grapevines. They maintain the structural integrity and long-term stability of the trellising system, even under harsh weather conditions.

Why end posts need larger sections

A line post carries the load of a single span. An end post absorbs the combined tension of every wire in the row, multiplied along its full length. It is the first component to fail under strong winds or uneven canopy loads, which is why Sika end posts use larger sections:

  • Strong — 68 x 56 mm
  • Mini Strong — 56 x 46 mm

For comparison, the largest line post section is 65 x 45 mm. Under-sizing the end post compromises the entire row, not just one post.

Certified strength and long-lasting performance

Sika’s end posts are built for demanding mechanical and environmental conditions. Their steel construction ensures high corrosion resistance and long-term durability, reducing maintenance and replacement over time.

Each post is available in galvanised steel or corten steel, manufactured in Italy with steel certified to EU 10204 3.1.

Anchoring the end post

An end post alone is not enough: it needs an anchoring system sized for the row load. Sika supplies ground anchors, post anchors and anchor plates to distribute the load in softer soils and prevent the post from sinking.

For a full guide on sizing and installing anchors, see how to anchor grape trellis posts.

Installing end posts

End posts should be set at a 45° to 60° angle and driven 15 to 20 cm deeper than line posts to secure the anchoring. For maximum row stability, connect the end post to its anchor with a double wire. End posts can be driven manually with a post driver, keeping installation fast and straightforward.

Vineyard accessories. Essential components for a complete trellis system

To complement its end posts, Sika provides a full range of vineyard supplies:

All accessories integrate with Sika vineyard trellis posts, creating a cohesive system that supports healthy vine growth and long-term productivity.
