Vineyard end posts support the structure at both ends of every row. Sika’s steel end posts withstand the load and wire tension of fully grown grapevines. As a result, these vineyard trellis end posts keep the whole trellis stable for years, even in harsh weather.
Why end posts need larger sections
A line post carries the load of a single span. An end post, instead, absorbs the combined tension of every wire along the whole row. It is also the first component to fail under strong winds or uneven canopy loads. For this reason, Sika metal end posts use larger sections:
- Strong — 68 x 56 mm
- Mini Strong — 56 x 46 mm
For comparison, the largest line post section is 65 x 45 mm. In the hot-dip version, the Strong post reaches 2.15 mm in steel thickness. Remember that an undersized end post weakens the entire row, not just one post.

Sika builds its end posts for demanding mechanical and environmental conditions. Their steel construction resists corrosion and lasts for years. Consequently, you spend less on maintenance and replacements over time.
Every end post comes in galvanised steel or corten steel. We manufacture them in Italy with steel certified to EN 10204 type 3.1.
Anchoring the end post
An end post alone is not enough. It also needs an anchoring system sized for the row load. Sika supplies ground anchors, post anchors and anchor plates. These spread the load in softer soils and stop the post from sinking.

Installing end posts
Set each end post leaning outward, at 45° to 60° to the ground. Then drive it 15 to 20 cm deeper than the line posts to secure the anchoring. For maximum row stability, connect the end post to its anchor with a double wire. A manual post driver is enough, so installation stays fast and simple.
